LB Brass - Our Premier Wedding Service

By engaging directly with you, we bespoke our service according to your preferences and musical tastes, catering for special requests for particular music, hymns or reception pieces.

Our wedding brass band typically plays requested music whilst guests arrive or gather before the ceremony. Playing music to accompany the bride down the aisle, providing music during the service (if required), and afterwards during the photography to entertain your guests, at the drinks reception or garden party.

LB Brass has played together at many weddings for more years than we care to remember and regard those years of experience as our most valuable asset. We are friendly and very approachable and we understand that, for many of you, music repertoire can be quite overwhelming. With this in mind, we are happy to talk to you about your vision of your “special day” and what part the music for your wedding plays in this. We are happy to make suggestions, when invited, helping you tailor make your special occasion. We can accommodate most requests and are open to less than conventional requests – a Madness single was given to us to arrange for a wedding on one memorable occasion!

Custom Musical Arrangements

Wedding Bears

LB Brass uses its own, specialist composer/arranger and can arrange virtually any piece of music to match the occasion and venue.

In the case of weddings, it is our pleasure to play that special piece of music for the bride's procession or to play the groom's favourite hymn. We also have access to a vast library of music and hymn arrangements, some specially written to be in the best possible range for vocal performance, as we regularly perform with choir, organ or piano/keyboard. Visit our library to find your favourites.

Wedding Case Studies

LB Brass performed at a Wedding in Heanor, Derbyshire. The event was made extra special in response to the bridegroom's request that the band should play "Annie’s song” for his bride. After arranging bespoke music for the occasion, Annie his bride was surprised and overwhelmed as they walked down the aisle together to “her song”.

The band performed in Chambers within the York City walls. We were asked to provide no religious music for this civil ceremony and performed an appropriate selection of music as the guests arrived and took their places in this fine, baroque venue. The bride asked that we arrange the pop classic "It must be love” by Labi Siffre/Madness whilst signing the register. The band played their “special” chosen music accompanied by rapturous applause from the congregation! The happy couple left for the wedding breakfast accompanied by a four-trumpet fanfare to herald their marriage.

Ripley Castle
LB Brass performed at a civil wedding ceremony in Ripley Castle in 2009. The brief was to play hymns throughout the service, light music before and after the ceremony, with a special request from the bridegroom for the film music from Colditz, to be arranged as he thought it would be humorous to leave the church arm-in-arm with his new bride to the up-beat tempo of “The Great Escape!” The band obliged to the delight of all!

The band was requested to play at a small church in a beautiful idyllic village. We played as the guests arrived and accompanied the choir in the chosen hymns. The solo Ave Marie was requested and played as the bride and groom signed the register. Whilst the photographs were being taken in the grounds, LB Brass played for the guests. A quick change and drive to the hotel to reassemble and set up in the gardens playing selected light music in time for the bride and groom to greet their guests. We also played background music for the wedding breakfast.

LB Brass was asked to play at Mirfield Parish Church for a brass band enthusiast as both the bride and her father played in a West Yorkshire brass band. We played their selected music throughout the service, replacing both the organ and the choir and then drove to the beautiful setting of Holdsworth House Hotel in Halifax to play outside in the gardens whilst all the guests re-grouped. Unbeknown to the guests, the bride and her father then gathered up their instruments and joined the band, accompanied us playing two of their favourite numbers to the delight of the audience.
